We made it!

3 1/2 days, 10 states, 5 tanks of gas, 2 chick-fil-a stops, a half dozen cups of coffee (for me!) and two hotels later, we made it!

Pictures coming soon! Stories still being written up and blurry pictures being processed. Moving vehicles are not good places to take pictures from! For now, a few tidbits.....

We have an 8x7x6 foot cube carrying all of our stuff, on it's way here.

If any unsuspecting thieves try to break into it, they will get crushed by the stuff crammed in there. Who knew you could pack two people's lives into something so small? Oh wait, we didn't, we left 67 garbage bags and a mound 5 feet in diameter and 5 feet tall in our front yard for the garbage men for this morning. I'm glad I'm not there to get in trouble. :) Also, a pick-up truck full of seasonal/northern stuff in my in-laws basement.

I seriously should have taken pictures during the packing, but I was too busy trying not to physically strike my in-laws for the rude comments they wouldn't stop making and for ignoring me standing right there and speaking about me as though I couldn't hear them even though I was two feet away, and for ignoring my questions when addressing them by name standing right there. Seriously, children!

We had snow all the way to Birmingham Alabama, nothing compared to up home, but enough to make the locals freak out.

Scraping morning 3!

Southern Tennesee

We paid ridiculously little for gas by home standards. Invert the last two digits and you have the average price of gas in New York.

We saw quite a few interesting sites along the way, all from the windows of the car...

Seriously, someone had too much time and not enough hatred for snow!

Who would have guessed that rural Alabama was the home of JVC Electronics?

We stayed at my aunts house the first night, and amazingly gorgeous Comfort Suites the second night (missed the hot tub closing by 10 minutes!) and a rather "interesting" Quality Inn the third night.

The third night also happened to be the eve of Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras kick off, and the hotel happened to be located 20 minutes outside of New Orleans. It was interesting to say the least. Also, considering the Colts gave the Saints the Superbowl a week and a half ago, the partying was still going on from that. Lots of big guys in Saints jerseys and the husband wouldn't let me walk around alone.

Texas Welcome Center

Now we're just waiting on our cube to arrive so we can set stuff up. It's kind of like a mini vacation for a few days. We wandered the outlet mall for a little while in t shirts and flip flops in the 55 degree weather. The locals were all in winter coats, and I'm sure thought we were nut jobs. I was thinking they were all wimps in their winter coats, scarves and boots.

Think that's it for now, still uploading pictures, so I'll add those in later.

Welcome to the South!! Yes, haha..55 is not t-shirt and flip flops weather. Give yourself a year or two and you'll find that you surprisingly will agree.55 is still a light jacket at least! ;) (reminds me of on Miss Congeniality..haha)Have fun settling in.
