I'm a lists person, always have been, probably always will be. My lists are on scrap paper, in front of the computer (my biggest distraction from them!) waiting to get done.
Usually they have things like, "run dishwasher, empty dishwasher, start laundry, put away towels, pay bills, defrost meat, go to bank," etc....on them. Pretty normal, right?
Well, lately I've been increasingly easily distracted from the necessities on my to do lists. I think it's the cold weather, that and now only have one morning off a week, and part of one afternoon, when I used to have 3 mornings and half an afternoon.
I'm finding myself writing down really stupid things on my to do list, things like, "blog, read blogs, shower, eat" on there. Seriously, should I really be reminding myself to shower and eat? Don't those things come naturally, like when you feel gross and your stomach's making noises at you? And the blog stuff, really? Like I have to be told to be distracted by the internet? Who am I fooling? I love being online! It's my connection to people who aren't students or students moms! It's my window to sales, shopping, celebrity gossip (I admit!), music, why would I have to remind myself to enjoy those things?
BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL ACCOMPLISHED!
I'm writing down and crossing off my time wasting things so I feel like I did something, when really I'm doing big fat nothing! I'm trying to justify not being accomplished!
Do you ever feel like your down time is a waste, or is it necessary for your sanity enough to consider it a must do on your to do list? Or, are you actually accomplished enough that internet time is a reward for a job well done? Or, are you like me and just trying to justify your own relaxation?

I'm totally w/ you. A list is the way to go!
me too - need a list or else it doesn't get done...anyway...I also just wanted to stop by & say hi...you've commented a couple of times on my blog...I'm still saving for a camera since some stuff came up when I was going to buy one that was a little more important, but what you wrote really helped me define what I want! thanks!

Must must MUST have my lists. Otherwise I am the woman wandering around in circles wondering "what do I do now?!" :)
