So, I'm finally mostly back to cooking. I'm not doing anything extreme, or that the husband can't handle finishing if I go into another random coughing fit, but I'm cooking from scratch again! No more canned soups and frozen dinners for us this week!Monday-
Grilled Chicken, Seasoned Rice, Steamed Broccoli
Tuesday-
Fettuccini Alfredo
Alfredo Sauce- 1/2 Cup Milk 1/2 stick Butter 1/4 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese In small sauce pan, melt butter on low, bring to a simmer. Using a whisk, continuously stir in milk, boil while stirring constantly until completely blended. Turn off heat (but leave on burner) and whisk in cheese. Serve over Fettuccini or Linguine, with chicken and steamed veggies or a side salad.
Wednesday-
Italian Dressing Marinaded Chicken Strips, Smashed Potatoes and Steamed Broccoli
Thursday-
Homemade Mac & Cheese
Friday-
Steak, Potatoes and Broccoli
Saturday-
Dominoes Pizza! A halloween tradition, of takeout pizza and a movie in bed with the lights out, hiding from all the crazies!
I'm so not a halloween girl. I can't wait til it's over and the Christmas decorations can start filling up the stores without the halloween decorations ruining them. I never even liked halloween as a kid, minus the candy. By the time I was 10, my mom figured out how much I disliked the whole thing, so she made me a deal. Because we lived in a large neighborhood where your house got vandalized (egging was too mild) if you didn't give candy, she started paying me the $20 it would cost to buy or make a costume and letting me stack the candy bowl with my favorites on bottom, and I got paid to give out the candy and got to stop when I got to my favorites or 9:00, whichever came first. Not a bad deal for me!
I may hate halloween, but I LOVE Fall! And I love the view out my door today! The colors are fantastic!
