So, I'm not going to lie, I'm not an exercise person, I do it, because I know it's good for me, and I can see results, but I don't like it, and I don't mind when I'm not doing it, most the time. But, lately, I've been missing my morning runs. My last two years of highschool and the first year or so after, I ran 2-3 miles, outdoor, every morning it was nice enough not to kill myself on ice. I got to a 9 minute mile average, and weighed less than I did in 9th grade. I've run for random 4-5 month periods since, but only for a few months leading up to an event or vacation or something. I ran before we went to Texas at Christmas, but then just watched my weight food wise before my sister's wedding cause up until the week before it was too cold and frozen to run. We don't belong to a gym, and I'm too cheap to buy a treadmill, so unless it's over 40 degrees before 8:00, I don't run.
Anyways, this morning I started running. I had every intention of doing a very slow and easy two miles. After a few conversations with my husband I realized I'm really very unhappy with the tone of my body, and a bit un happy with my weight (it's back up near it's highest) and I need to fix that. My poor delusional husband thinks that because he likes my body, I'm automatically going to adore it and never work out again, but he doesn't understand women, so that's okay. He actually attempted to get me to let him do a boudoir shoot of me after a vacation filled with eating out. I'm tan, but flabby, so, the tan is not as much fun and I need to fix that.
So, this moring I got dressed to work out, ran him to work, and came back and started my first mile lap around the block. Well, about a third of the way through, the Ipod conked out on me. Completely dead battery, no music. I tried to keep an even speed and slowed to a jog to make it easier, and finally about 3/4 of the way through, decided it wa not working. I needed my musical motivation. So, my 2 mile run became a 1 mile jog. I did lots of crunches when I got home! I guess that's something.
Questions-
Does anyone else share my obsession for a good beat to run to? I can't focus without it. My mind drifts and my pace varies, which messes with my breathing and the whole thing just kind of falls apart. Any favorite running songs I should download?
Also, any suggestions for good, cheap running pants? All of mine are just about dead, of course they're all 7-8 years old, so I guess it's time to replace them anyways. I just noticed how horribly ratty they've gotten this morning and want to pick up some new ones sometimes this week. Any tips?
Anyways, enough about working out, now to the eating!
My Menu Monday for the week of 4/27
Monday- Grilled Barbeque Chicken Legs, Twice Baked Potatoes and Steamed Broccoli
Tuesday- Homemade sauce-less pizza
Wednesday-Takeout night! I have a weird schedule with a one hour gap from 5:30-6:30, so I'll either pick up a sub or Panera and bring it home for us to eat during the break.
Thursday- Grilled Sweet and Sour Chicken and Stir Fried Veggies over Brown Rice
Friday- Quesadillas and fresh fruit
Weekend, who knows! We have like 3 church event things, so it'll probably be alot of food on the run.
If anyone wants recipes, just email.
Off to lessons!

Your menu sounds great! As for running pants mine are yoga capris from old navy and I just wash them over and over cuz I can't find another pair I like as much
Old Navy has some REALLY chill running pants..depends on how cheap you want to go...Walmart has some good stuff, but I'd say Old Navy stuff is cuter :)
And YES!! I share the obsession with working out! No, husbands don't always agree with why we do what we do :)
Hmm, I run but I usually wear shorts. Good luck and hang in there. I found rap and hip hop music works for me but everyone is different!
