Catch up time

So, I'm a bit behind, but that's what happens when you leave for a 13 day trip a day early on 24 hours notice and end up making it a 14 day trip.

One of the three or four "blizzards" Rochester got right before Christmas caused us to leave a day early. On Friday we got 12 inches of snow in 6 1/2 hours and when I looked at the forecast and saw another 24-36 inches coming on Sunday and Monday, we decided if we were making Houston by Christmas, we needed to be out of Rochester by Sunday morning. So, we rushed Christmas with Adam's parents on Saturday, came home, packed, and left at 5:04am Sunday morning, before the plows had come out, smart huh? We figured beating the snow was better than waiting for the plows, so it took us 4 hours and fifteen minutes to get out of NY, which is usually only a 3 hour drive from our house, but we made it! The only thing I'm mad about is that the stupid snow storm stole my chicken! The Erie PA Chick-fil-a happens to be the closest one to us, and leaving on Sunday meant I did not get to stop and get chicken minis on my way out. I love Chick-fil-a, if we ever get out of Rochester it had better be to a city that has Chick-fil-a!

Anyways, we drove, alot the first day, made it to West Memphis Arkansas, slept about 6 freezing hours in the car at a Flying J Truck Stop (another must for roadtrips!) and then finally got our Chick-fil-a in the morning. We made Houston around 6:30 Monday.

More to come, with pictures, if I can find anything, cleaning must happen before I can blog again.
