My menu planned on Monday, posted on Tuesday

I'm a day behind and the week just started. I seriously do not understand why people get so excited about long weekends. Maybe they're better at using the extra day(s) to get ahead, but in our house, the extra day means an extra night of no sleep and an extra day at the in-laws, which means an extra grouchy me, who's really really far behind by the time the work week kicks in again.

Anyways, important things first, our FOOD-

Tonight-
Sweet BBQ Chicken Bacon Pineapple Kabobs on the grill, served over brown rice and with a side of fruit salad.

Wednesday-
Most likely leftover pizza

Thursday-
DATE NIGHT! Out, cause he owes me big time after last week's failed date night and 4 days with his parents

Friday-
BBQ Boneless Pork Ribs, Seasoned Fries and steamed Broccoli

Saturday-
Burgers, Fries and Fruit

And now for the boring stuff. No particularly interesting things to talk about when it comes to the cottage and the in-laws. They didn't do anything too dramatic, just your standard off the cuff smart/insulting remarks. Nothing particularly funny.

The hubby's Grandma was in an exceptionally nasty mood basically all weekend though. I seriously don't understand why we can't just tell her "no" on things, whether you do what she wants or not, she still finds a reason to be mean to you, so what's the difference? She's 83 years old, and seriously, unless you're older than her, you're not good for anything and too dumb to know anything about anything, including your own life.

A little background-

I have no college degree per say, but I work more hours a week than my husband and bring in considerably more money 40 weeks a year. I'm a self employed piano/guitar teacher. I took private lessons from a Doctorate Student at Eastman School of Music for two years, over which time we covered the first two years course work for Music Education Majors. Basically, if Eastman offered an Associates, I'd have it. I also run the administrative end of our church's Youth Ministry, Co-ordinate the childcare portion of my childhood church's MOPS International program, and do a ton of babysitting on the side to put aside money for vacations, and summer break when I don't make as much with my regular job.

At the cottage, I do alot of the cooking. My mother-in-law doesn't always come because of her mother-in-law, who technically, is still a half owner of the cottage and therefore bosses everyone around and my mother-in-law doesn't like that. My father-in-law attempts to cook, but you wouldn't always want to eat it. (He has a tendancy to put something together and forget about it) So, basically, the kitchen is mine. While I'm getting dessert ready the first night, after making dinner for everyone 5 minutes after walking in the door, my hubby's grandma comes up to me and says

"it's a good thing you like to cook so much since there isn't much else you can do since you don't have a college degree."

If she wasn't 83 years old, I probably would have slapped her face.

Seriously
