Christmas is finally arriving at our house!

So the tree is fully decorated and we even have a few presents under it. All for our families, not each other yet, bought, on my part at least, but not wrapped.

The nativity is up.

My reindeer from my grandpa it out. He made them for his daughters and already born granddaughters when I was 2, so not all of us have them as he died 2 years later and never got around to make more.

And a few cookies have finally made it past the dough stage.
Chocolate Snowflake Cookies-

Ingredients-
4oz unsweetened baking chocolate
1/2 C Shortening
2 C Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla
4 Eggs
2 C Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 C Confectioners Sugar

Directions-
Melt chocolate and shortening together in a double boiler, or microwave. (in microwave, melt chocolate 1 minute, then add shortening, stir and heat 1 more minute.)

Pour into medium mixing bowl. Add sugar, Vanilla and Eggs, beat well.

Add in Flour, Baking Powder and Salt.

Refrigerate 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Roll balls through Confectioners Sugar to coat completely. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes, allow to set on cookie sheet for 2 minutes before removing to cooling rack.

4 days to go!
