So my beautiful, smart baby that I used to nanny for, who's now a college Freshman, has had one horrible end to her first semester!
Last Tuesday she called her mom from the ER near college after having a coughing fit/asthma attack for the first time in 10 years. Her roommate freaked that she couldn't breathe through the coughing and took her in, which of course caused Kelly to go into a full blown panic attack on top of it. Kathy (Kelly's mom) went down at 4am to get her from the ER and bring her home to take to their regular Dr.
Wednesday morning, got up to take Kelly back before her noon class and Kelly was nauseous and vomiting, so called the school, and let Kelly try to sleep it off.
Thursday Kelly still couldn't stop throwing up, so they took her to the regular Dr who sent her to the ER for fluids.
Friday, still can't keep anything down, Saturday morning, back to the ER.
Sunday, Kathy's starting to freak out because she can't even hold water down anymore and is having intense headaches.
Monday, back to the ER, given fluids, sent home with anti-nausea medicine
Tuesday, still throwing up, got into an internal medicine specialist, who sent her to the ER because she was so dehydrated they couldn't poke her to run any bloodwork
At the ER someone suggested the headaches could be triggering the nausea, did and MRI and 2 CT Scans and found a "pseudo tumor"/large water cyst on her brain.
Wednesday morning, did a spinal tap to drain fluid.
As of right now, they're planning to dismiss her this afternoon after they get her fluids replenished as she's now keeping down jello and they can safely send her home.
Poor thing! And she's supposed to start finals on Monday.
Pray for quick recovery and no stress finals!

Holy crap!! That's so intense... hope she continues to progress!!
So sorry. How scary. Just PTL that the tumor was NOT malignant. I just said a prayer for her total healing.
Oh my gosh I am so sorry and she and her family will be in my prayers.
