So, we went to a Graduation Party yesterday afternoon. Fairly standard thing to do this time of year right? Food, hanging out in someone's back yard visiting with people you either haven't seen in years or have never seen before in your life and watching kids run around, congratulating the grad and then it's time to go, right?
Wrong! At least for me at this one yesterday!
My baby graduated this summer.
My "little girl" Kelly whom I nannied for from from the time she was 9 til she was 17 with a driver's license, is leaving for college 2 1/2 hours away in 6 weeks. Her brother, one of my other babies (15, 5' 5" and 150lbs) made a photo/music slide show of her life and I just lost it. These kids are seriously my babies, all 4 of them. I'm losing it this badly for the first one, what the heck am I going to do when the last one graduates?!
Thankfully for my sake, he's only 10, and just finished 4th grade, so I have awhile.
Kelly said her solution to me being upset that I'm losing one of my "babies" is to have my own so it can become "her baby". Haha, very funny, maybe by the time she's graduating college she'll get that to happen.
