Now, for the fun stuff!
So the weekend was great! The husband's been extra sweet and happy the past two weeks from getting up an extra 45 minutes early for work and spending 30 minutes in devotions and 15 minutes with me before really getting ready. He's more tired, but the happiness MAJORLY outweighs the tiredness. :) His devotion time is doing wonders for his attitude.
Friday night we just hung in and cooked and did some cleaning, just to relax some, yes cleaning is relaxing for me sometimes!
Saturday we had date day! We got up, ran some errands, got some coffee, played putt putt, grabbed lunch out and saw a movie, all in one day together! I loved it! Then we came home and he dusted the majority of the hosue for me! Amazing!
Sunday we skipped church (bad I know cause we're youth leaders) cause there wasn't anything going on for our teens this week and we made 3 trips out for stuff last week and have to make 3 next week as well and regular youth stuff starts again in a few weeks, so we figured it was our last chance for awhile. We spent Sunday going through the paper together over coffee and running a few errands based on the adds from the paper. Seriously, I buy the paper for the adds. Not that I need more excuses to buy things, but sometimes, knowing where the deals are and stocking up is easier than making a million trips every week to find the best price.
On a funny note-
My parents went to the movies this weekend for the first time (Disney movies not included) since I was in highschool. We grew up seeing every single Disney movie made as a family, opening weekend, but since I started driving, my family has rarely gone to the movies.
After mistakenly referring to "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" as cute in front of my mom, she took my dad to see it. He walked out. My parents are still under the impression that all movies should be family friendly, and that one certainly isn't. I admit, it has some inappropriate parts, but overall, I think it's a great movie. I wouldn't take a 12 year old to see it, but considering I was 17 at the time and went with a couple of girlfriends, I didn't see anything wrong with it. My dad obviously did, and the only reason my mom sat through it was because she was making a list of all the reasons I should hate that movie for it's inappropriateness.
I took my mom to see "Pride and Prejedice right after I got married and she qiute audibly sat there criticizing the cleavage the whole movie. Which, I think is funny, because Keira Knightly really doesn't ahve enough cleavage to criticize. :)
Anyways, they went to see "Julia & Julie" this weekend cause my mom's obsessed with all things cooking and kitchens. I'd heard the language wasn't the greatest and so had she, but she didn't think it could be too bad if it was only PG-13, how bad could it be if teenagers can see it? (According to her at least) I guess my dad tried to leave the theater twice because of inappropriate tops on the women, but my mom wouldn't let him cause the tickets were so expensive, and she counted the inappropriate language and is now recommending that no one else see it to her friends who wanted to go.
I'm tempted to look up the language count online. My mom still yells at me for dropping "crap" every once in a great while. Last time I said it in front of her I got my face slapped, at 21.
Anyways, just a funny thing about my parents. Don't worry, they can't read this. They joined facebook around the same time I started blogging, so I've kept this my little secret from them. :)
