Prayer Request

So I've been a bit wired this afternoon. Found out my grandpa is in the hospital after some form of heart "episode". They aren't calling it a heart attack until after they run a few tests, but basically, that's the assumption. He's fine and in the hospital and hooked up to monitors and IV's and flirting with his "beautiful 40 something cardiologist" but everything could change tomorrow morning after they get test results back and figure out what the next step is.

See, my grandpa's one of those stubborn old (83) pain in the necks. He had prostrate cancer, diagnosed for 6 months before he bothered to tell my dad....his only kid!!!! It took my parents moving 1500 miles to Houston TX to get him to go through treatment. By the time they killed the cancer, they also killed a kidney and gave him pulmonary sclorosis, so he's no longer the "ox" he used to be. We also just found out shortly before Christmas that he'd been diagnosed as a diabetic....6 YEARS AGO....and not even my grandma knew!!!! My dad found out when he ended up in the ER with food poisoning and my dad read his chart sitting there and asked the Dr with "DB" stood for.

My grandpa's theory is "if he can't live the way he wants without medicine, let whatever's wrong with him kill him" Has been since he turned 80.

So, if he refuses whatever they suggest, my dad will have to fight him on it, which he HATES doing. Also, if surgery is the solution, he can't breath lying down as his lungs fill up with fluid, but I'm assuming they have a way of handling that.

I'm not sure what's really going on being 1500 miles away, but just pray it goes smoothly whatever it is, okay?
